Books not triggering the next step

First, make sure that the READ switch has been triggered. The bookshelf won’t even check for the books until the record player has completely gone through.

Next, unscrew the bottom side of the bookshelf shelf that the books sit on. Underneath, you’ll see some sensors on the right hand side. They are supposed to individually light up when the 6 books above them are in place. However, changing any books on the shelf, even if its not one of the last 6, tends to subtly move where the magnets are in the books above and misalign these sensors.

The sensors can be moved and re-secured to match how the books are arranged above. Each sensor has a light that turns green. When it can tell there is a magnet above it, and when all are done, the Bookcase Reed switches will trigger. You can see if its triggering in the Clue Dashboard's debug section
