Trade Guide
Overview
Trades with local businesses can be used for team events, prizes or incentives, or general store fun and morale.
Trades should be something the whole store team can benefit from and enjoy. Some examples:
Food, of course!
Fun activities (zoos, aquariums, museums, ax throwing, etc.)
Useful services (oil changes, car washes, etc.)
How To
Guidelines:
Try to trade in dollar-for-dollar gift card amounts (ex: $500 to Olive Garden for $500 in Breakout gift cards)
Keep the value of individual gift cards at or below $200 (break this up if you need to; for example, $500 for 5 $100 gift cards)
For food, use code TRADEFOOD100
For events or all other trades, use code TRADEEVENT100
While there are no limits to the number of trades you can create, do not trade more than $500 at a time to one organization. If something is going to be more than that, please check with the operations team first.
Sample trade script:
"Hi! Can I speak to your General Manager? [insert joke about it not being for a bad reason] (when GM answers): Hi! My name is [name] and I am the General Manager for Breakout Games in [city]. We're an escape room company [name specific area of town you’re in]. We love doing trades with other local businesses. We're great for team building and incentives. Would you be interested in something like that?"
If they say yes, you can iron out the details. 🙂
Marketing/Advertising Trades
Some companies may reach out to do a trade in exchange for advertising. For example, we have given gift cards to radio stations in exchange for radio ads. Please forward these requests to Faith Neece. If you have ideas for businesses to do an advertising trade with, please let Faith know!
