In-Store Gift Card Discount Guide

We’re introducing a new in-store code for gift cards: BRKGIFT20. This code will be good for 20% off a gift card purchased in-store.

The why behind this new strategy:

We want to give guests a chance to purchase another item for a discount right after they just had a great experience with us.
The standard 20% off code gives us a simple way to increase in-store purchases.
Using an in-store code adds a little pressure for guests to make a decision to buy.
While we will still offer discounts around holidays, this code gives guests an opportunity to purchase gifts at a discount all year.

How to use:

At the end of the game and after taking a group photo, game masters should verbally tell groups that they can purchase a gift card for 20% off before they leave.
- Photo boards will have a sign on the back with a Google review QR code on one side, and “ask us how you can save on your next game” on the other side.
- Other lobby signs will also draw attention to the discount.
If the group is interested, direct them to the lobby to purchase the gift card.
Guests can select the dollar amount they want for their gift card. Internally enter code BRKGIFT20 to discount 20%.
Do not give out the code directly to guests. Only input it on your end.
Same as with REPLAYNOW, do not give to guests over the phone before they’ve purchased a game.

What about….

If guests want to use the code on bookings instead of gift cards?
- If the guest knows exactly when they want to play again and want to book it now, don’t argue with them. Go ahead and apply it. Just don’t advertise that this is an option. Keep the focus on the code applying to gift cards.
If guests buy a gift card and immediately book a game with it?
- That’s fine! Whether they use the gift card right away or in the future, they still made the purchase.
If guests want to use it on merch?
- Avoid any discounts on merchandise. Keep the language around gift cards.

REPLAYNOW vs BRKGIFT20

Offer the REPLAYNOW option when another game is immediately available.
REPLAYNOW isn’t a big discount for 2-person groups, so push gift cards with all 2-player groups instead.
Most guests won’t be available to play another game on the same day– that’s ok! You can then say, “We also have a special discount for 20% off gift cards purchased in-store if you’d like to use that. It NEVER expires and will stay attached to your account in our system to use when you are ready to book.”
The 20% off gift card discount is always available– tell guests after every game.
